Nintendo Working on Ideas For Next Console

In an interview with the Associated Press, legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto talked about the Nintendo’s future hardware plans. Miyamoto did say that the Wii U is the focus for the time being, with Star Fox and The Legend of Zelda both releasing next year. He also wants Mario to be the man to lead Nintendo forward.

“…For the time being, our focus is on the Wii U hardware, but Nintendo as a whole has groups working on ideas for new hardware systems. While we’re busy working on software for the Wii U, we have production lines that are working on ideas for what the next system might be.”

“From early on, I wanted Mario to be that character in the digital world, so that with each digital evolution, he was there to usher in the next era. I think that maybe when we release the next hardware system, you can look forward to seeing Mario take on a new role or in a new game.”

Those that have played the game, whilst signed into Xbox Live, between its launch date and today will receive the game for free. Here’s what 343’s Studio Head Bonnie Ross had to say on the matter:

“This has been a humbling experience and highlighted how we as a studio can – and need – to do better for Xbox fans around the world.  We are so grateful to our fans who have stood by our side and we appreciate all of your patience as we worked through these issues. As a token of our appreciation and to thank fans for the continued support and understanding, we will be offering the following items…”

The campaign will run at 1080p and 60 FPS. Development on the upgraded game has just started, but we can expect to see it release in Spring 2015. Firefight will not make it into the final product. The campaign will come in the form of a free download token.

New Lords of the Fallen Game Coming To iOS & Android

CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski has announced that a new Lords of the Fallen game will be coming to mobile platforms. This cleared up earlier rumours that a port of the original game would come to iOS and Android.

“…A Lords of the Fallen sequel is currently in development for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The reaction from fans to the news has been tremendous so far, and we’re eager to take on the challenge of improving upon the solid experience that has been created with Lords of The Fallen.

I’d also like to offer some new information — we’re currently working on a mobile game that takes place in the Lords of the Fallen universe, which we’re aiming to launch on iOS and Android in 2015. It will not be a straight port of the game though, but rather a brand new Lords of the Fallen experience. More details on that are still to come.”

Lords of the Fallen was released on PS4, Xbox One and PC back in October. It received mixed reviews from multiple publications. A sequel to the game was confirmed earlier today by executive producer Tomasz Gop.
