Nintendo has denied that its upcoming NX platform will implement the Android operating system. According to the Wall Street Journal, a Nintendo spokesperson denied the rumours that were floating about the industry yesterday. There were claims that Nintendo was looking into using Android to give developers more flexibility in making content that can also be on smartphones and tablets.

“There is no truth to the report saying that we are planning to adopt Android for NX.”

Nintendo revealed the existence its next-generation NX platform back in March. It’s described as a dedicated game platform with a “brand-new concept.” Nintendo has expressed that they may take a wildly different direction with the new system compared to its past platforms.
