According to Oculus founder Palmer Luckey, the consumer version of Oculus Rift may not hit the previously-targeted 2015 release date. Luckey was speaking at a panel during SXSW, where he stated that people shouldn’t worry as there isn’t anything wrong with development.
“I can’t comment on the [release] date one way or another, in either direction, but I can say that nothing is going horribly wrong,”
“Everything is going horribly right.”
In an interview with Polygon, Luckey stated that the 2015 release was targetted before the company made a lot of changes to Oculus’ roadmap. He also confirmed that the Crescent Bay prototype uses two screens instead of one.
