Gears of War Testers Punished by Microsoft for Leaking Content

Gears-of-War

Microsoft and VMC Games have punished a number of testers of a rumoured remastered edition of Gears of War. The testers reportedly broke a non-disclosure agreement and leaked content on the Internet.

Heres an extract from a letter obtained by Kotaku:

“Recently, multiple leaks were perpetrated by several GBTN community members,”

One of the testers shared a screenshot of the unannounced game on Snapchat. The picture ultimately leaked out onto the Internet. Those that broke the NDA also broke Microsoft’s EULA, an agreement that is necessary to create an Xbox Live account. Therefore, any who shared or leaked the information online has had their Xbox Live account disabled and their Xbox One’s rendered unusable. The console lock will remain in effect for as long as Microsoft deems necessary.

The rumoured Gears of War Xbox One remaster was first reported back on April 24th.
