Japanese publishers have a nasty habit of not releasing their games in Europe, or giving their titles limited releases (I’m finally enjoying Earthbound, twenty years late). When I saw that One Piece: Unlimited World Red, an action-RPG based on the titular wacky animé series was going to be readily available, I snapped it up. Read more …
MouseCraft Review
I recently returned to Japan from a trip back to Blighty and immediately had to begin studying for a Japanese language proficiency exam. That is to say that my spare time of late has been somewhat limited. So when the review copy of MouseCraft arrived I was excited and dismayed at the same time.
I’ve wanted to get my filthy paws on this game for a while and when I finally did, I had almost no time to play it. For several days I didn’t even load it up. But when I did I realised that this is precisely the kind of game that I bought a Vita for in the first place. Read more …
Stick it to The Man! Review
Recently, I seem to be playing and reviewing many more indie games than triple A titles. Over the years, I dare say I’ve given Amazon, GAME, ShopTo and other retailers a sizeable chunk of my disposable income, such as it is.
With that said, I’m still very careful about what I collect. My hoard of games may not have the appearance of quality over quantity, but there’s very little chaff amongst the wheat. I’ve been known to prune my collection from time to time as well, selling or trading in games which I don’t feel belong, though this is rare.
So to summarise, I normally buy games online, am very specific about what I buy and rarely ever trade in games. Let me tell you about how I bought Ys: Memories of Celceta. Read more …
