Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has shot down rumours that Microsoft was in talks to purchase exclusive rights to Silent Hills.
Sorry, this isn’t true. Not sure where the rumor started but I don’t want to mislead anyone.
Spencer was responding to a fan who was hoping that the rumours were true. An anonymous source claimed Microsoft was in talks to purchase the rights to Silent Hills for “billions” of dollars. He/She also stated that the game was 80% complete and was due to release in March 2016 for Xbox One.
Silent Hills was officially cancelled by Konami last month and the PT demo was ultimately pulled from the PlayStation Store.
