Sony will supposedly release two new PS4 models, one of which will feature a 1TB hard drive.
This news comes courtesy of DualShockers, who found certification documents on the US Federal Communications Commission site. The new models, referred to as CUH-1215A and CUH-1215B, are variations of the original PS4 model. The difference is essentially the hard drive size, with the CUH-1215B version containing a 1TB HDD.
It doesn’t look like either of the models will feature a redesign of the console, like we saw last generation with the PS3 Slim. However, a notable change comes to the power source, which is now 230 watts compared to the original 250 watts. Amperage has also changed from 2.5-1.15 amps to 2.3-0.95 amps. The console will also be lighter, coming down from 2.8 kg to 2.5 kg. However, the external dimensions of the console will remain the same.
It seems as though Sony are looking at a more eco-friendly and lighter PS4.
