FFXIV Fan Fest 2014
In a sign of its increasing popularity worldwide, Square-Enix have opted to give fans of its hit MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn around the globe the opportunity to watch upcoming conventions on live streams. The Fan Festival 2014 is being hosted in Las Vegas (October 17th, 18th and 19th), Tokyo (October 20th and 21st) and London (October 24th and 25th) this year, with each gathering being streamed over the internet in a manner similar to Blizzard’s past offerings with BlizzCon. Atma Wits End
While this article specifically references Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, I’d consider it applicable to anyone who’s ever played an MMO before. To anyone who has ever had to grind for something in any sort of RPG. I’m not going to lie to you, though: this is going to be dry reading for most. A Slim Chance
This is my reward for getting excited about things. While it is due out in Japan on December 26th, Square-Enix announced on Monday that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be delayed until March 2014 for us folks in the West. Not only that, but the PS Vita version of the game seems to have been delayed indefinitely for anyone outside of Japan. Those in North America will get their hands on the PS3 version come March 18th, with Europe able to play Blitzball a few days later on the 21st. While this may seem like unfortunate news (and it is), I choose to see it in another light.
It’s my belief that the delay is intentional and not due to localisation issues or other, unavoidable setbacks. I have a sneaking suspicion that we may have a pleasant surprise on our hands. Read more …

There are games that you can keep going back to, time after time. Games that never seem to lose their appeal; that retain the same essence of fun they always did. True classics like the MegaDrive Sonic games can be played in all their glory, regardless of what equipment you own, because they’re available on damn near everything nowadays.
