In an interview with Destructoid after the 2015 British Academy Games Awards, Tim Schafer discussed which games he would like to revisit in the future. He stated that Psychonauts is one of the franchises he would like to delve into again.
“The world of Psychonauts is so interesting because you can just keep creating more brains every time you meet somebody and wonder what the world inside their brain looks like,”
The legendary developer also said that he would like to work on a sequel to Brutal Legend, and is keen to work with Jack Black again.
“it’s kind of already designed because we had to throw away half that game to get it done two years late,”
“It’s a lot easier to imagine going forward with that or Psychonauts.”
Schafer’s upcoming game, Broken Age: Act 2, is due to release before the end of this Spring.
