Underworld Ascendant Reaches Kickstarter Goal

Underworld-Ascendant

Otherside Entertainment has raised the $600,000 it had set for the Underworld Ascendant reboot. As a result, the developer has made a few adjustments to the game’s stretch goals. The goals stretch all the way to $1.2 million in funding, and will unlock things such as co-op play and companion creatures. Here are a few of the stretch goals:

  • $650,000 – The Underswamp (new in-game area)
  • $700,000 – Tracy Kickman, fantasy author of the Dragonlance novels, will pen a prequel novel to Ascendant
  • $750,000 – Lizardmen, another intelligent race
  • $800,000 – Companion creatures

Underworld creator Paul Neurath spent 20 years in order to gain the franchise rights back from EA. He subsequently announced the Kickstarter project once he regained the rights.

“We’re humbled,”

“Honored to have your support. And, to be honest, a bit relieved that we actually did reach the milestone. The team is incredibly excited that we can now make the game we have so passionately wanted to make for 20 years, and do it together with you.”
