LEGO Skylines leak points to a city builder no one expected
May 27, 2026·3 min read
LEGO may be getting ready to build a very different kind of game. A new rating-board leak has pointed to LEGO Skylines, an unannounced crossover that appears to mix LEGO’s brick-building identity with the city-building world of Cities: Skylines.
The listing reportedly appeared on South Korea’s game ratings board before being taken down, with Paradox Interactive named as the publisher. Neither LEGO nor Paradox has officially announced the game yet, so the details should still be treated carefully. But if the listing is accurate, this would be one of the most surprising LEGO game ideas in years.
A LEGO city builder makes a strange kind of sense
On paper, LEGO Skylines sounds unexpected. Most modern LEGO games are action-adventure releases built around big entertainment brands, jokes, collectibles, and co-op chaos.
A city builder would be a very different move, but it also fits LEGO better than it first sounds. LEGO has always been about planning, placing pieces, reshaping ideas, and slowly turning small builds into something bigger. That is not far from what makes city builders work.
If this really is tied to Cities: Skylines, the interesting question is how deep the simulation goes. A full Paradox-style city builder with LEGO visuals could be much more than a cute reskin if it lets players design neighborhoods, roads, services, and buildings with brick-like freedom.

The leak arrives at the right time for a reveal
Summer Game Fest is almost here, and rating-board leaks often appear close to official announcements.
The same South Korean ratings leak reportedly included several other unannounced or upcoming titles, which makes LEGO Skylines feel like part of a wider pre-show slip rather than a random placeholder. Still, the game has not been confirmed by LEGO, Paradox, or any official showcase account.
That is the line players should keep in mind. The rating makes the project look real, but it does not tell us how big the game is, when it launches, or whether it will appear at Summer Game Fest.
LEGO games are already moving in new directions
The leak comes shortly after LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which gave TT Games another major licensed release and pushed LEGO games back into the spotlight. A city-building project would be a sharp turn from that style.
LEGO has spent the last few years stretching beyond the old formula, with games and sets that target different kinds of fans. A Cities: Skylines crossover could reach players who are less interested in action levels and more interested in building something from the ground up.
It would also give Paradox a cleaner, friendlier way to bring city-building to a wider audience. Cities: Skylines is popular, but it can be intimidating for new players. A LEGO version could make the idea easier to approach without losing the fun of watching a city grow.
The real reveal still has to happen
Right now, LEGO Skylines is still an unannounced game. There is no trailer, platform list, release date, gameplay breakdown, or confirmation that it will be shown during the summer showcases.
The leak is exciting because the idea is so easy to imagine: a city builder where roads, districts, parks, and public services come together through LEGO’s playful style. If LEGO and Paradox are really working together, this could be one of the more unusual reveals of the season.
