The Last of Us gets new official Powerlines art for collectors
May 28, 2026·3 min read
The Last of Us fans are still waiting to see what Naughty Dog does next with the series, but the latest official release is a quieter one. Powerlines, a new fine art print based on The Last of Us Part II concept art, is now available through Cook & Becker, giving collectors a fresh piece built around Joel and Ellie’s journey rather than another tease for a new game.
The artwork shows the pair riding on horseback under a warm sky, with power lines stretching across the landscape. It is not one of the series’ violent moments. It is the kind of image that reminds players why The Last of Us still stays with people: the silence between danger, the long road ahead, and the relationship at the center of it all.
The artwork focuses on Joel and Ellie’s quieter journey
Powerlines works because it does not try to show the loudest part of The Last of Us. There are no infected, no gunfights, and no ruined city full of immediate danger. The focus is on two characters moving through a world that still looks beautiful, even after everything has fallen apart.
That fits the mood of The Last of Us Part II. The game is remembered for its brutality, but its quieter scenes often hit harder because they give players space to sit with the characters before the next loss arrives.
The print is listed as a Certified Art Giclée, with hand-numbering, embossing, and a certificate of authenticity. Robby Johnson is credited as the artist behind the piece.

It is official, but not a sequel hint
Because this is The Last of Us, even a piece of official art can start speculation. Fans are still looking for any sign of The Last of Us Part III, especially after years of discussion around Naughty Dog’s future plans.
This release should not be treated that way. Powerlines is an official collector print, not a game announcement, trailer setup, or hidden reveal. Naughty Dog has not announced a third mainline game, and this art release does not change that.
That distinction matters because the series is already surrounded by enough rumors. A new print can still be meaningful for fans without becoming evidence of a bigger reveal.
The series is still active outside new games
The Last of Us has not gone quiet, even without a new game announcement. HBO’s adaptation has kept the series in the public eye, while Naughty Dog is now working on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as its next major single-player project.
That leaves The Last of Us in an interesting place. The series is still important, still being collected, and still being discussed, but Naughty Dog has not shown where the game side goes next.
For now, Powerlines gives fans something official to hold onto. It is a small release, but it captures the softer side of Joel and Ellie’s story better than a louder piece of promotional art might have.
