01Overview
007 First Light is a third-person espionage action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive. Players follow a 26-year-old James Bond at the beginning of his career, when the resourceful but sometimes reckless Royal Navy air crewman attracts the attention of MI6 and enters its training program. The story presents an original, reimagined origin for Bond as he learns the skills that will eventually turn him into Agent 007. Missions take Bond across international locations including London, Iceland, Malta, Slovakia, Mauritania and Vietnam. Players can approach objectives through stealth, direct combat or a combination of both, with observation and improvisation playing an important role. Spycraft mechanics allow Bond to eavesdrop on conversations, pickpocket important items and discover alternative routes, while Q Branch gadgets provide tools for hacking, distractions and covert takedowns. When situations escalate, combat combines close-quarters fighting with gunplay, while Bond's Instinct ability can be used to manipulate enemies, escape suspicion or gain an advantage during confrontations. The game combines IO Interactive's experience with open-ended stealth design with the cinematic action, gadgets and international espionage associated with James Bond.
