Age of Mythology: Retold is a real-time strategy game that rebuilds the 2002 classic with modern visuals, updated systems and expanded content. Players lead mythological civilizations inspired by cultures such as the Greeks, Norse, Egyptians and Atlanteans. Matches revolve around gathering resources, building settlements, training armies and advancing through different Ages. Alongside human soldiers, players can recruit myth units such as Minotaurs, Valkyries and Anubites, while powerful God Powers can dramatically change the course of a battle. Each civilization follows its own gods, units and mechanics, encouraging different strategies. The game includes story-driven campaigns, skirmishes and multiplayer, with modernized controls, improved AI and updated presentation built around the original Age of Mythology formula.
