01Overview
Assassin’s Creed Origins is an action-adventure game set in ancient Egypt near the end of the Ptolemaic era. The story follows Bayek, a Medjay tasked with protecting the people, as personal tragedy draws him and his wife Aya into a wider conflict against the Order of the Ancients. Their campaign crosses paths with figures including Cleopatra and Julius Caesar and establishes the beliefs and organization that eventually become the Assassin Brotherhood. The game features a large open-world recreation of Egypt, including cities, deserts, temples, tombs, and the Nile, with an increased emphasis on exploration. Players travel on foot, by mount, or by boat while completing story quests, helping local communities, investigating ruins, and clearing enemy camps. Bayek’s eagle, Senu, scouts locations from above, marks enemies, and identifies objectives. Gameplay combines stealth with melee and ranged combat using weapon types such as swords, spears, shields, and several classes of bows. Experience levels, skill trees, crafting, equipment rarity, and weapon upgrades determine Bayek’s combat capabilities and readiness for higher-level regions. The included Discovery Tour mode removes combat and story quests, allowing free exploration or guided educational tours covering Egyptian history, culture, landmarks, and daily life.

Assassin's Creed Origins: The Curse of the Pharaohs
The Curse of the Pharaohs is a downloadable content expansion package for Assassin's Creed: Origins, set to be released in March 2018. It is the second out of two expansion packs for the game, alongside The Hidden Ones. The Curse of the Pharaohs sees Bayek travel to Thebes and the Valley of the Kings, where he will uncover a mystery that will develop into a "living nightmare" for Bayek. Further exploring Egyptian mythology, the expansion pits Bayek against mythical beasts and dead pharaohs.

Assassin's Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones
The Hidden Ones is a downloadable content expansion package for Assassin's Creed: Origins, set to be released in January 2018. It is to be the first out of two expansion packs for the game, alongside The Curse of the Pharaohs. Set several years after the events of the main game, The Hidden Ones sees Bayek travel to the Sinai Peninsula, where he will become entangled in a conflict between occupying Roman forces and a rebel faction. It also continues the story of the Hidden Ones, exploring the events that came after the formal founding of the Brotherhood.
