01Overview
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is a third-person action-adventure stealth game set in London during the Industrial Revolution of 1868. Players control twin Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye as they challenge Templar leader Crawford Starrick’s control over the city. Jacob specializes in brawling and close combat, while Evie has stronger stealth abilities, though both acquire shared and character-specific skills. Victorian London can be crossed using parkour, horse-drawn carriages, and a rope launcher that quickly scales buildings or creates ziplines between them. Its boroughs are liberated by weakening the Blighters and expanding the twins’ street gang, the Rooks. Weapons include brass knuckles, revolvers, cane-swords, and kukri knives, with equipment unlocked or improved through crafting and progression. Missions allow direct fighting or silent infiltration, while major assassinations include optional routes, distractions, and unique opportunities for reaching a target. Activities such as gang strongholds, bounty hunts, Templar hunts, and child liberation missions reduce enemy influence before a final gang confrontation in each borough. Players can also purchase gang upgrades that improve Rook fighters, income, and support services. A moving train serves as the Assassins’ headquarters, and additional missions introduce historical figures connected to Victorian London.
