01Overview
In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, players become Eivor, a Viking raider who leads the Raven Clan from Norway to England during the ninth century. The open-world journey centers on establishing the settlement of Ravensthorpe and building political power among England’s divided kingdoms. The main campaign is organized around regional story arcs chosen from an alliance map, while longship raids on monasteries and military sites provide materials needed to expand the settlement. Constructing buildings such as a blacksmith, barracks, and trading post unlocks services, quests, and customization options. Players explore on foot, horseback, or by longship and can approach enemies through melee combat, archery, or stealth. Eivor can dual-wield axes, swords, and shields, use a bow at range, or assassinate targets with the Hidden Blade. A branching skill tree, equippable abilities, weapon upgrades, and armor sets support different combat builds. Dialogue and political decisions can affect relationships and events within individual regional arcs. Beyond the campaign, the world contains smaller encounters, puzzles, legendary animals, fortresses, and members of the Order of the Ancients to uncover. Historical conflicts are also connected to Norse mythology and the wider Assassin’s Creed storyline.
