01Overview

Astro Bot is a 3D platformer where players guide Astro across dozens of planets after the PS5 mothership is attacked and its crew is scattered throughout space. Each level is built around precise jumping, punching, hovering, and environmental interactions, with stages regularly introducing new mechanics and surprises. Players rescue lost Bots, collect Puzzle Pieces, and recover parts of the damaged mothership while moving through jungles, beaches, volcanoes, construction sites, and other themed environments. Many rescued Bots are based on characters from PlayStation history, turning exploration into a large celebration of the platform’s games. Gadgets and temporary abilities change how individual levels play. Astro may use spring-loaded boxing gloves, monkey arms for climbing and smashing obstacles, a bulldog booster for rapid dashes, or other tools designed around specific platforming challenges. Some stages are dedicated to PlayStation characters and temporarily give Astro abilities inspired by their games. The DualSense controller is used throughout for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion controls, and sound effects that reflect surfaces, movement, and interactions. Rescued Bots also populate the Crash Site hub, where additional areas, collectibles, and activities gradually become available.
