01Overview
Battlefield Vietnam is a multiplayer-focused first-person shooter developed by DICE Canada and set during the Vietnam War. Players fight as American, South Vietnamese, North Vietnamese or Viet Cong forces across large maps inspired by historical battles and locations. Matches combine infantry combat with vehicles including tanks, helicopters, jeeps, boats and aircraft. Different soldier kits provide access to weapons and equipment suited to roles such as assault, anti-tank combat and engineering, while control points determine where teams can spawn and how territory changes hands. The game expands on Battlefield 1942 with more mobile infantry combat and a stronger focus on helicopters. Its licensed 1960s soundtrack can also be played through vehicle radios, giving Battlefield Vietnam a distinct identity within the early series.
