01Overview

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is a first-person shooter developed by Sledgehammer Games and a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II. The campaign follows Task Force 141 as they confront returning antagonist Vladimir Makarov and his plans to destabilize the world. The campaign introduces Open Combat Missions, which give players larger areas and more freedom to choose between stealth, direct attacks and different equipment. Traditional linear missions are also included. Multiplayer launched with modernized versions of all 16 maps from the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2, alongside familiar modes and updated movement mechanics. The Carry Forward system allows many weapons, Operators and cosmetic items from Modern Warfare II to transfer into the game. Modern Warfare III also includes an open-world Zombies mode built around squads completing objectives and extracting from a large map.
