Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure set on the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Players take the role of Kliff, a Greymane whose comrades are killed or scattered after an ambush by the rival Black Bears. Determined to reunite the survivors and rebuild what has been lost, Kliff travels across plains, forests, deserts, mountains, cities, and ruins while becoming involved in conflicts that threaten the wider continent. Combat is fast and physical, with players combining different weapons, equipment, and learned skills to create attack chains and respond to enemy strikes. Exploration takes Kliff across a large open world containing settlements, wilderness, hidden locations, and the mysterious Abyss. Players can travel on foot or using mounts, while abilities such as Flight provide additional ways to move through Pywel. Progression comes from unlocking new combat skills, expanding Kliff’s arsenal, and refining equipment using materials gathered during the journey. Abyss Nexus locations also provide fast travel between discovered areas, helping players return to earlier regions while continuing the search for the surviving Greymanes.
