Dead Space is a 2011 science-fiction survival horror game developed by IronMonkey Studios for mobile devices. Set between the events of the original Dead Space and Dead Space 2, it follows an engineer known as Vandal aboard Titan Station, also called the Sprawl. After carrying out a sabotage mission for the Unitologists, Vandal becomes caught in the Necromorph outbreak spreading through the station. The chapter-based campaign sends players through industrial facilities, corridors, and other sections of the Sprawl while uncovering how the disaster connects to the events of Dead Space 2. Gameplay adapts the series’ third-person survival horror combat for touchscreen controls. Players use weapons including the Plasma Cutter, Line Gun, Ripper, and close-range Plasma Saw to fight Necromorphs, with dismembering limbs remaining an important part of combat. Stasis can slow enemies and machinery, while Kinesis allows objects to be manipulated from a distance. Players explore for ammunition, credits, and supplies, and can purchase or improve equipment as they progress through the station.
