Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is an enhanced edition of the role-playing game developed and published by ZA/UM. Players control an amnesiac detective investigating a murder in the district of Martinaise while trying to reconstruct his identity and understand the political tensions surrounding the case. The game has no traditional combat system. Progress instead comes through exploration, conversations, skill checks, and decisions that shape how the detective behaves and how other characters respond to him. Its 24 skills represent different aspects of the protagonist’s mind and body, frequently speaking during conversations and influencing available choices. The Final Cut adds full voice acting, new political vision quests, additional scenes, and other narrative revisions while retaining the original investigation and progression systems. Players improve attributes and skills, equip clothing that modifies statistics, and internalize ideas through the Thought Cabinet to unlock new bonuses or dialogue options. Failed skill checks can open alternate outcomes rather than simply ending progress, while decisions made throughout the investigation affect relationships, ideology, and parts of the ending.
