01Overview
Far Cry 3 is an open-world first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and set across the tropical Rook Islands. Players control Jason Brody, a tourist who becomes stranded after he and his friends are captured by pirates led by Vaas Montenegro. The campaign follows Jason as he rescues his friends and becomes increasingly involved with the island’s conflicts. Players can explore beaches, jungles, villages and ruins while hunting animals, collecting resources and capturing enemy outposts. Combat supports stealth, long-range attacks and direct gunfights, with skill upgrades unlocking new takedowns and abilities. Weapons can be customized with attachments, while vehicles and hang gliders make it easier to move across the islands. Vaas and the wider cast give the story a darker psychological edge than earlier entries.
