Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2 is a first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and set during World War II. The campaign is split between Soviet, British and American soldiers, with missions taking place across major fronts including Stalingrad, North Africa and Normandy. Combat focuses on large infantry battles supported by machine guns, artillery, tanks and scripted battlefield events. The game introduced regenerating health to the series, replacing the traditional health-pack system and encouraging players to use cover during intense firefights. Each campaign follows a different group of soldiers through a series of historically inspired operations, while multiplayer includes modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Headquarters. The combination of cinematic battles and faster pacing helped shape the direction of later Call of Duty games.
