Dead Cells

Dead Cells is a 2D action platformer developed by Motion Twin that combines roguelike progression with Metroidvania-style exploration. Players control the Prisoner, an immortal creature that possesses fallen bodies while trying to escape a constantly changing island. Combat is fast and precise, built around melee weapons, ranged attacks, traps and well-timed dodges. Each run uses procedurally assembled levels, so enemy layouts, items and routes change between attempts. Death sends the player back to the beginning and removes most collected equipment, but Cells can be spent on permanent upgrades that carry over between runs. New Runes unlock movement abilities such as wall climbing and ground breaking, opening additional paths and giving players access to more areas as they progress.
