Doom II: Hell on Earth

Doom II: Hell on Earth is a first-person shooter developed by id Software and the direct sequel to Doom. After escaping Mars, the Doom Marine returns to an Earth overrun by demons and fights through increasingly dangerous environments in an attempt to stop the invasion. Gameplay retains the fast movement, key hunting and weapon-focused combat of the original while introducing larger and more complex levels. The Super Shotgun joins the arsenal, offering devastating close-range damage, while new enemies such as the Revenant, Mancubus, Arch-vile and Pain Elemental make encounters more demanding. Unlike the original Doom, Doom II was released as one continuous campaign rather than separate episodes. It also includes multiplayer deathmatch and cooperative play, both of which became important parts of the game’s long-term popularity.
