Final Fantasy VI

Final Fantasy VI is a turn-based RPG developed by Square and originally released in 1994. Set in a world where magic has largely disappeared, the story follows a large ensemble cast resisting the militaristic Gestahlian Empire and the ambitions of the unstable Kefka Palazzo. Combat uses the Active Time Battle system, with each character bringing distinct abilities such as magic, martial arts, tools or monster techniques. Players can equip Espers to learn spells and improve character stats over time. The adventure moves between towns, dungeons and a large world map, with the story eventually opening into a more flexible structure that lets players reunite scattered party members. The Pixel Remaster version updates the visuals, soundtrack and interface while preserving the original game’s core design.
