Gears of War

Gears of War is a third-person shooter developed by Epic Games and the first entry in the Gears series. Players control Marcus Fenix, a soldier fighting alongside Delta Squad against the subterranean Locust Horde on the planet Sera. Combat is built around a cover system that encourages players to move between protected positions while suppressing and flanking enemies. The Lancer assault rifle, equipped with a chainsaw bayonet, became one of the series’ signature weapons, while Active Reload rewards precise timing with faster reloads and temporary bonuses. The five-act campaign can be played solo or in two-player co-op. Competitive multiplayer supports team-based matches, with modes focused on elimination and objective play across compact, cover-heavy maps.
