Mafia II

Mafia II is a third-person action-adventure game developed by 2K Czech and set in the fictional American city of Empire Bay during the 1940s and 1950s. Players control Vito Scaletta, a returning war veteran who becomes increasingly involved with organized crime alongside his friend Joe Barbaro. The campaign is heavily story-driven, with missions combining gunfights, driving, melee combat and criminal jobs across the city. A cover-based shooting system is used during combat, while police can pursue Vito for crimes ranging from speeding to armed violence. Empire Bay changes as the story moves through different years, with period vehicles, clothing and licensed music helping establish the setting. Although the city is open to exploration, progression remains focused on a linear series of story missions.
