Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit

Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit is an arcade racing game developed by EA Canada and the third main entry in the Need for Speed series. Players race a selection of high-performance sports and exotic cars across winding roads, mountain routes and other closed courses. The game’s defining feature is its Hot Pursuit mode, which introduces police chases into races. Officers attempt to stop speeding drivers using roadblocks, spike strips and pursuit vehicles, forcing players to avoid both rivals and law enforcement while racing toward the finish. Players can also take control of police cars and chase down speeding racers themselves. Alongside the pursuit-focused events, the game includes traditional races and time trials, with additional cars and tracks becoming available as players progress.
