Nioh 3

Nioh 3 is a dark samurai action RPG set in an alternate version of Japan’s Sengoku period, where war, bandits and supernatural yokai have plunged the country into chaos. Players take the role of Tokugawa Takechiyo, who is drawn into a struggle for the shogunate after his younger brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, moves against him. The game expands the series with larger open-field areas that can be explored more freely, including villages, battlefields and corrupted regions affected by the Crucible. Players fight human enemies and yokai, discover equipment, complete objectives and search for hidden paths and rewards throughout each area. Combat is built around two styles that can be switched instantly during battle. Samurai Style retains the weapon-based combat, guarding and Ki management associated with earlier Nioh games, while Ninja Style emphasizes faster movement, evasive actions and Ninjutsu techniques. Players can use different weapons, develop skills and combine abilities from both styles depending on the enemy or situation. Guardian Spirits, Soul Cores and other returning systems provide additional combat options, while jumping introduces more vertical exploration and movement through the game’s larger environments.
