The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda is an action-adventure game developed by Nintendo and the first entry in the Zelda series. Players control Link as he explores the kingdom of Hyrule and searches for the eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom. The world can be explored with relatively little guidance, encouraging players to discover hidden caves, secret routes and the entrances to nine dungeons. New items such as bombs, the bow and boomerang expand Link’s options in both combat and exploration. Each dungeon contains enemies, puzzles and a boss, with new equipment often opening additional possibilities elsewhere in Hyrule. The game also introduced a battery-backed save system on its original cartridge, allowing players to continue their adventure without starting over.
