01Overview

Half-Life: Alyx is a virtual reality first-person shooter developed by Valve and set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Players control Alyx Vance as she and her father, Eli, help build an early resistance against the Combine occupation of Earth. Gameplay is designed specifically for VR, combining shooting, exploration and environmental puzzles with hands-on interaction. Alyx can manipulate objects, search containers, reload weapons manually and use Gravity Gloves to pull distant items toward her. The campaign takes place across occupied City 17, where players encounter Combine soldiers, Headcrabs and other creatures from the Half-Life universe. Weapon upgrades, scavenged resources and physics-based puzzles give exploration a slower, more deliberate pace than traditional Half-Life combat.
