HITMAN World of Assassination brings together the campaigns of HITMAN, HITMAN 2, and HITMAN 3 into a single stealth-focused experience spanning more than 20 locations. Players control Agent 47 as he travels around the world to eliminate assigned targets in large sandbox environments. Missions can be approached through disguises, stealth, firearms, accidents, poisons, environmental traps, or carefully planned combinations of each. Locations are designed for repeated play, with challenges, alternate starting points, hidden opportunities, and unlockable equipment encouraging different approaches on subsequent attempts. Beyond the main campaign, Contracts Mode lets players select NPCs as targets and create assassination challenges for others to complete. Escalations introduce increasingly restrictive mission conditions, while Elusive Target Arcade turns special targets into multi-stage contracts. Freelancer provides a separate roguelike mode where Agent 47 operates from a customizable Safehouse and hunts criminal syndicates across existing locations. Players choose missions, build an arsenal, earn currency, identify Syndicate Leaders, and risk losing equipment carried into failed assignments, adding longer-term planning and progression to the standard assassination format.
