01Overview

Kingdom Hearts IV follows Sora as he awakens in the unfamiliar world of Quadratum, a modern metropolis far removed from the worlds he knows. Searching for a way home, Sora becomes involved in a new conflict while dark creatures known as the Heartless appear throughout the city. His journey will once again extend beyond Quadratum into other worlds, where new characters and powers become part of the story. Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy begin their own search for Sora, heading to the Underworld in hopes of finding a clue to his whereabouts. Combat retains the series’ fast-paced action RPG structure, combining Keyblade attacks, magic, movement, and chained combos in real time. A new battle feature expands how attacks can be linked together, while players can change the Keyblade Sora is wielding to access different attacks and adjust their approach during fights. Quadratum also provides a more realistic urban environment for Sora to navigate, creating a distinct setting for the beginning of the series’ next major story arc.
