Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii follows Goro Majima after he is shipwrecked on a remote Pacific island with no memory of his past. After being rescued by a boy named Noah, Majima becomes captain of his own pirate crew and sets out across the seas in search of his lost memories and a legendary treasure. The journey takes him through locations including Hawaii and the pirate haven Madlantis, where he becomes caught between criminals, rival pirates, and other factions. On land, Majima fights in real time using two combat styles that combine fast melee attacks, weapons, dodges, and aerial moves. At sea, players command Majima’s ship, the Goromaru, recruit crew members, upgrade the vessel, and explore between islands and other destinations. Naval encounters use real-time cannon combat before Majima and his crew can board enemy ships and fight their opponents directly. Crew members can be assigned different roles aboard the ship, while upgrades improve its weapons and capabilities. Away from the main story, players can explore towns, complete side activities, and take part in minigames while building Majima’s reputation as a pirate captain.
