Marvel’s Wolverine is a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure from Insomniac Games centered on James “Logan” Howlett. Three years after leaving Team X, Logan rejoins the mutant task force as billionaire Bolivar Trask and his Reavers abduct mutants. The story takes Wolverine across locations including Canada, Tokyo, and Madripoor as he works with characters such as Jean Grey, Mystique, and Sabretooth. The game is not open world, instead moving through focused locations and set pieces while exploring Logan’s past and the wider threat facing mutants. Combat is built around Wolverine’s adamantium claws, aggressive movement, parries, brutal takedowns, and a Rage system that grows through successful attacks. Players can unlock swappable Special Techniques and Adaptations that improve abilities such as health, Rage, and combat options. Enhanced Senses help track enemies and support stealth approaches, while some encounters temporarily suppress Logan’s powers and force players to fight without his normal healing ability. Exploration can reveal upgrade materials, collectibles, optional conversations, and Nightmare Trials that unlock memories from Logan’s past.
