Create, explore, survive, repeat. Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC combines both versions of Minecraft in one package, letting players switch between them through the Minecraft Launcher. In either edition, players explore procedurally generated worlds, gather resources, craft tools and items, build structures, and encounter creatures ranging from passive animals to hostile mobs. Survival mode adds health, hunger, resource management, and combat, while Creative mode provides unrestricted access to blocks and items for building and experimentation. The two editions share the same core Minecraft experience but differ in multiplayer and customization. Java Edition supports Windows, macOS, and Linux and is widely used for community-made mods and third-party servers. Bedrock Edition supports cross-platform multiplayer with other Bedrock players on Windows, consoles, and mobile devices, and includes access to Minecraft Marketplace content. Java and Bedrock players cannot directly join the same multiplayer game, so players must launch the edition used by their friends. Both versions support private Realms and player-hosted servers, giving the package access to two distinct Minecraft ecosystems from one purchase.
