Mortal Shell II is a standalone action RPG set in a ruined dark fantasy world where the Harbinger must reclaim the Undermether’s stolen eggs. Players explore a compact, interconnected open world filled with hostile fanatics, grotesque creatures, ancient temples, frozen graves and bone-built citadels. The bodies of eight fallen warriors, known as Shells, are scattered across the world. Finding and possessing them grants access to their individual strengths and abilities, while recovered memories reveal more about who they were. Combat combines melee and ranged weapons with dodging, parrying, executions and attacks that break enemy posture. Unlike the original game, Mortal Shell II removes the stamina gauge, allowing players to stay more aggressive during fights. Weapons can be upgraded extensively, and different Shells support different approaches to combat. Exploration rewards players with new Shells, weapons, upgrades, curiosities and additional story material hidden away from the main route. More than 80 dungeons are spread throughout the world, providing tougher encounters and opportunities to test different equipment and character builds as the Harbinger hunts the creatures guarding the stolen eggs.
