Need for Speed: Carbon is an arcade racing game developed by EA Black Box and a direct sequel to Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The story follows the player returning to Palmont City, where rival crews control different territories and compete for dominance through illegal street racing. Progression revolves around winning races, taking over districts and building a crew. Teammates can provide abilities during events, including blocking opponents, finding shortcuts and helping with drafting. Cars are divided into tuner, muscle and exotic classes, each with different handling characteristics. One of the game’s defining features is Canyon racing, where players compete on narrow mountain roads with steep drops and limited room for mistakes. The Autosculpt system also allows detailed visual customization of body parts, wheels and other components.
