Doggie Verifies Geometry Dash's GRIEF After 436,879 Attempts

October 6, 2026·3 min read

Doggie has verified Geometry Dash level GRIEF after 436,879 attempts, sending the Extreme Demon straight to No. 1 on the Pointercrate Demonlist.

Geometry Dash player Doggie has finally verified GRIEF after more than two years of attempts, completing the Extreme Demon on October 5 after 436,879 tries.

The successful run ended a verification process that began on May 1, 2024 and ultimately stretched across 396 livestreams. GRIEF was published by icedcave after the clear and has since taken the No. 1 position on the Pointercrate Demonlist, placing it above Society as the community ranking's hardest completed level.

Two 97% deaths came before the successful run

Doggie came within seconds of completing GRIEF months before the final verification. He reached 97% for the first time on June 14, 2026, only to fail near the end of the level. A second 97% death followed on September 21.

Those attempts were particularly punishing because a verification has to be completed from 0% to 100% in a legitimate run. Falling at 97% meant Doggie had to restart the entire level rather than resume from the section where the attempt ended.

He finally reached 100% during stream 396 on October 5. The finished verification brought his recorded attempt total to 436,879, more than two years and five months after he began streaming dedicated attempts at the level.

GRIEF went straight to No. 1 on the Demonlist

Doggie's completion did more than make GRIEF publicly playable. Pointercrate now ranks the level at No. 1 on its Demonlist, ahead of Society, Thinking Space II, Amethyst, Flamewall, and Tidal Wave.

Pointercrate's Demonlist is a community-run ranking separate from Geometry Dash's own difficulty system. In-game, GRIEF is rated as an Extreme Demon. Pointercrate provides a more specific ordering of the hardest legitimately verified levels and requires proof of verification before eligible levels can be placed.

The list currently describes GRIEF as a roughly two-minute-and-45-second level with 189,605 objects. icedcave published the project, with contributions from creators including GrenadeofTacos, TriplasH, Realvet, Doop, CDMusic, MercuryDT, and Greafer.

Pointercrate has no other GRIEF records listed yet

With the verification complete, other high-level Geometry Dash players can now chase their own full clears. GRIEF is publicly available under level ID 149992717.

Pointercrate currently requires at least 76% progress for a GRIEF run to qualify for its records, but the level's page does not yet list any approved player records. Doggie therefore remains the only 100% clear shown on the page as the level's verifier.

After 436,879 attempts and two separate failures at 97%, his successful run has turned one of Geometry Dash's longest-running verification projects into the new No. 1 level on the Demonlist.
