That does not mean the game is broken on Steam Deck. That makes it a great pickup for anyone who only knows the series through Dragon Age: Inquisition or Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Origins is older, rougher, and slower, but it is also sharper in the places that made BioWare’s RPGs special.

The choices feel important, the party banter still lands, and the darker tone gives the game a different flavor from the later entries.

Dragon Age: Origins is starting to feel old. The menus can feel clunky, the combat takes patience, and the presentation is not going to impress anyone looking for a modern fantasy blockbuster. Ferelden feels harsh, the companions have strong personalities, and the game keeps asking players to make choices that rarely feel clean.
