Gachiakuta: Breakout gets 2027 release window and new name

September 20, 2026·3 min read
Com2uS has renamed its upcoming Gachiakuta adaptation from Gachiakuta: The Game to Gachiakuta: Breakout and confirmed that it will launch in 2027. The survival action RPG is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.

The new title and release window were revealed alongside a gameplay trailer shown around Tokyo Game Show 2026. Com2uS has not announced a more specific release date within 2027.

The first gameplay trailer shows combat in the Pit

Gachiakuta: Breakout is based on Kei Urana’s manga and its anime adaptation. The game follows Rudo after he is falsely accused of a crime and thrown into the Pit, where discarded objects and dangerous creatures known as trash beasts fill the world around him.

Rudo eventually joins the Cleaners, a group that fights those creatures using special weapons known as Jinki. His own ability allows him to draw power from objects that have been treated with care and turn them into tools for combat.

The new footage shows fast real-time battles against groups of enemies, with Rudo using melee attacks and his Jinki abilities to clear encounters. Com2uS is recreating the look of the series through cel-shaded 3D visuals designed to stay close to the manga and anime.

The publisher has previously shown individual combat footage for Rudo, Enjin, Riyo, and Zanka. The latest trailer gives a broader look at how those characters and systems fit into the full game.

Missions send players into dangerous areas for supplies

The survival side of Breakout sends players into polluted areas across the Pit and No Man’s Land. These expeditions involve fighting trash beasts and hostile outlaws while searching for useful objects and resources.

Players will need to return safely with what they collect. Those items can then contribute to character development and other systems back at the Cleaners Headquarters.

Com2uS has also confirmed real-time cooperative play. The company has not yet explained how many players can team up at once or whether the entire campaign will support co-op.

The Cleaners Headquarters grows between missions

The Cleaners Headquarters acts as a base between expeditions. Materials and objects recovered during missions can be used to develop and customize the area, with additional features becoming available as players progress.

The game will also include interactions with other members of the Cleaners outside combat. Exploration has another purpose through hidden graffiti scattered around the world, giving players more reasons to search areas beyond completing missions and gathering supplies. Com2uS has not yet detailed how extensive the base-building systems will be or how much control players will have over the headquarters.

Com2uS is targeting a 2027 launch

Gachiakuta: Breakout is currently confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. A Nintendo Switch 2 version has not been announced.

The move from Gachiakuta: The Game to Gachiakuta: Breakout gives the adaptation its final announced title as development continues toward 2027. Com2uS still has several details to reveal, including the exact launch date, pricing, co-op structure, and how closely the game will follow the story of the manga and anime.
