HoYoverse has revealed Nodusfall, a new co-op action game that sends players into squad battles against enormous creatures inspired by mythologies from around the world.
Unveiled during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, Nodusfall also takes HoYoverse in a noticeably different visual direction from Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero. Its first trailer shows a realistic fantasy world filled with ruined landscapes, dragons, heavily armored fighters, and large-scale creature battles.

Players step into the role of Weavers and form squads to fight powerful creatures throughout the world. HoYoverse is building the combat around teamwork, with characters able to use different Styles and Skill combinations depending on the enemy and the needs of the group.
Fights are designed around maintaining pressure until an enemy exposes a weakness, giving the squad an opportunity to finish the battle. Defeating powerful creatures also provides resources used to unlock new Skills and weapons, expanding the options available for different builds.
The reveal footage gives those encounters considerable scale, with multiple characters fighting creatures far larger than themselves across a variety of environments. HoYoverse describes Nodusfall as a multi-mythology co-op action game.

Nodusfall is not based around a single mythology. HoYoverse is drawing from traditions across different parts of the world while creating an original setting with its own civilizations, landscapes, and divine order.
The creatures range from beasts inspired by Eastern mythology to Western dragons associated with approaching catastrophe. New regions will introduce different ecosystems, cultures, and histories as players progress.
At the center of the story are the Dreadnodi, mysterious entities whose arrival spread corruption across the land and twisted its legendary creatures. The Weavers enter the ruined world after divine authority has collapsed, fighting the corrupted while attempting to recover what remains of divinity and restore order.
The realistic art direction makes Nodusfall immediately distinct from HoYoverse's biggest existing games. Characters, environments, armor, and creatures all use more realistic proportions and detail instead of the anime-inspired presentation associated with much of the studio's catalogue.
The reveal footage was captured using Unreal Engine 5, although HoYoverse has made clear that it does not represent the final product.
A release date and launch platforms have not been announced.
