Humblets Kickstarter Unlocks New Biome, Photo Mode, and More

October 30, 2026·4 min read

Humblets' successful Kickstarter unlocks five new features, including a biome, Photo Mode, musical instruments, and an additional pet companion.

Indie developer Berry Bite has confirmed several new features for Humblets, its upcoming open-world adventure inspired by cozy games such as Animal Crossing. The additions follow a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised more than €159,000 against an initial €40,000 goal.

In a post-campaign update, the two-person studio announced that five stretch goals had been unlocked, including a new biome, Photo Mode, a fifth pet companion, and playable musical instruments. The game combines exploration, crafting, home customization, and card-based battles, with online cooperative multiplayer for up to four players.

Berry Bite launched its Kickstarter campaign on September 15, 2026, and reached its funding goal on the first day. By the time the campaign ended on October 15, more than 2,600 backers had supported the project. The funding success unlocked five additions that will be available to everyone who purchases Humblets, rather than being restricted to Kickstarter supporters.

One of the largest additions is a new biome featuring different landscapes, creature variations, resources, and crafting recipes. The expansion will give players more areas to discover in the game's procedurally generated world.

Berry Bite is also adding a fifth pet companion with its own cards and starter deck. Players will be able to choose their companion or receive one through a personality quiz. Pets can accompany players during exploration, collect resources, and deliver items.

The update includes 10 additional single-player emotes and five cooperative emotes designed for interactions between friends. Photo Mode is another confirmed feature. Players will be able to capture pictures using adjustable camera effects, filters, and character poses.

The fifth addition introduces craftable musical instruments. Players can choose between different instruments and perform music together during multiplayer sessions. Kickstarter backers will have opportunities to vote on the new pet, emotes, and biome before those additions are finalized.

Open-world exploration combines home building with magical card battles

Humblets takes place in a colorful fantasy world filled with rolling hills, enchanted forests, magical creatures, and hidden locations.

Unlike games with a fixed map, each new adventure generates a different world to explore. Players can gather materials, discover crafting recipes, collect cards, and interact with wildlife while traveling through these environments.

Home customization is built around a portable tent. Players can set up their home in different locations, decorate the interior with furniture, grow plants, and craft additional items using discovered blueprints. The game also features extensive character customization. Players can change their Humblet's horns, tails, outfits, and accessories to create a personalized adventurer.

While exploration and crafting are central to the experience, Humblets also includes encounters with magical creatures. Instead of traditional action combat, players settle these challenges through card battles.

Cards can be discovered during exploration, upgraded at crafting tables, and traded with other players. Different combinations allow players to experiment with strategies when facing stronger creatures. Online multiplayer supports up to four players. Friends can explore together, connect their tents into shared campsites, exchange cards, and cooperate during battles.

Berry Bite has expressed interest in increasing the player limit before release, but four-player co-op remains the confirmed target.

Humblets is targeting a late 2027 release on PC and consoles

Berry Bite is aiming to release Humblets during the fourth quarter of 2027. However, the developer has warned that the schedule could change as work continues on additional features and content.

The game is planned for PC through Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox, and PlayStation. The studio hopes to launch across all platforms simultaneously but has not guaranteed that every version will arrive on the same date.

Cross-platform multiplayer is also planned for the console launch, allowing friends on different systems to play together.

Eligible Kickstarter backers are expected to receive access to a digital alpha on Steam during the second quarter of 2027. This testing period will give supporters an opportunity to experience the game before its full release.

Although Berry Bite has shared its target launch window, the official Steam store page still lists the release date as unannounced.
