Phantom Blade Zero preloads are live ahead of its October 29 launch. Check global unlock times, PC storage requirements and the delayed PS5 physical edition.

S-Game has confirmed the global release time for Phantom Blade Zero, with its martial arts action RPG unlocking simultaneously worldwide on October 29 in most regions. Players in parts of North America will technically gain access on October 28 because of time-zone differences.

Preloading is already available for players preparing for launch. Phantom Blade Zero releases digitally on PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, while the previously announced physical PS5 edition has been delayed until 2027.

Phantom Blade Zero officially launches at 10 a.m. Beijing time on October 29, equivalent to 2 a.m. UTC. That means players on the US West Coast can begin at 7 p.m. PDT on October 28, while the East Coast unlock is scheduled for 10 p.m. EDT.

UK players gain access at 2 a.m. GMT on October 29, while the European launch falls at 3 a.m. CET. In India, the same worldwide release occurs at 7:30 a.m. IST on October 29.

There is no paid early-access period attached to a more expensive edition, meaning all players gain access at the same global release time. S-Game previously delayed the game from September 9 to October 29 to provide additional development time before launch.

PC players need plenty of storage for the preload

S-Game says the PC installation is approximately 145GB and recommends using an SSD. Players preloading the game are being advised to keep around 300GB of free storage available during installation, considerably more than the final installed size.

The developer has also recommended updating graphics drivers before launch. Its recommended PC specification targets 1440p and 60fps using upscaling, with an Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 16GB of RAM and either an RTX 3060 Ti or Radeon RX 6700 XT.

Minimum hardware targets 1080p at 30fps with upscaling. Ray tracing and path tracing are disabled at those settings, while higher visual presets require more powerful hardware.

The physical PS5 edition will arrive later

Digital players can begin Phantom Blade Zero this week, but anyone waiting for a boxed PS5 copy will have to wait considerably longer. S-Game has confirmed that the physical edition will now release sometime in 2027, although an exact date has not been announced.

The studio has not explained why the boxed release is arriving separately from the digital version. Digital editions remain on schedule across PS5 and PC, with preorders available ahead of the worldwide unlock.

S-Game is preparing its biggest release yet

Phantom Blade Zero follows Soul, an assassin framed for his master’s murder and left with only 66 days to live. His search for answers takes him through a dark martial arts world built around fast swordplay, unusual weapons and cinematic combat.

S-Game describes the game’s mixture of Chinese martial arts, dark fantasy and modern influences as “Kungfupunk.” With preload now live and the global release time confirmed, players have only a short wait before the studio’s long-developed action RPG launches on October 29.
