Snack World: Reloaded Gets New TGS 2026 Gameplay Showcase

September 18, 2026·3 min read

Level-5 has released a new gameplay showcase for Snack World: Reloaded as the remake makes its first playable appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

The roughly three-minute video offers another look at the updated RPG alongside the opening of its TGS demo. Attendees can play Snack World: Reloaded in English or Japanese at Level-5's booth, where it appears alongside Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, Holy Horror Mansion, and DECAPOLICE.

Snack World: Reloaded is scheduled for 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and PC via Steam. Level-5 has not announced a specific release date.

Snack World: Reloaded is appearing at Tokyo Game Show for the first time, giving attendees an opportunity to try the remake after Level-5 showed more of the project during LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II earlier in September.

Level-5 describes the playable build as a chance to experience Reloaded's upgraded "hyper-casual fantasy" world, but has not detailed the full contents of the demo.

The demo is also one of four playable Level-5 games at the event. Snack World: Reloaded supports both English and Japanese at the booth, while attendees who play it can receive an original bandana while supplies last.

Reloaded is changing more than the original game's graphics

Level-5

Snack World: Reloaded is a remake of Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl - Gold, with Level-5 revisiting the game's presentation and how it plays rather than limiting the project to a visual upgrade.

The official site says environments have been enhanced to give the world a more detailed diorama-like appearance. Gameplay and controls are also being refined, although Level-5 has not yet provided a full breakdown of the individual mechanical changes. The TGS demo gives attendees a chance to try those gameplay and control changes directly.

A new mode will put Chup at the center of the story

Reloaded will also introduce a new mode built around Chup, the protagonist of the Snack World anime. Level-5 says players will be able to control Chup and progress through the story from his perspective, adding content beyond the graphical and control changes already planned for the remake.

The developer has not yet explained how the Chup mode will be structured, whether it changes existing quests, or how much new story material it contains. Those details remain unannounced.

Snack World: Reloaded was originally unveiled during LEVEL5 VISION 2026 in April before receiving another showing at the company's September presentation. Its TGS appearance is the latest step toward the planned 2027 release on Switch 2, PS5, and PC.
