SURI: The Seventh Note Launches on PS5 and PC With Rhythm-Based Platforming
SURI: The Seventh Note is now available on PS5 and PC, featuring rhythm-based platforming, hand-drawn artwork and Trials of Yama DLC.
Indian developer Tathvamasi Studios has released SURI: The Seventh Note for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The rhythm-action platformer launched on October 30, 2026, following three days of early access for Digital Deluxe Edition owners.
Developed with support from Sony's PlayStation India Hero Project, the game combines hand-drawn visuals, music-driven platforming, and a fantasy world inspired by Indian culture. A new launch trailer also highlights its fast-paced chase sequences, where players must synchronize their movements with the soundtrack.
Ajira's journey combines platforming with musical timing

SURI: The Seventh Note follows Ajira, a young girl searching for a magical fruit to save her mother from a mysterious illness. Her journey takes her across the island of Suri, where a corrupting force has disrupted the natural rhythm governing the world.
As Ajira travels deeper into the island, her mission expands beyond saving her mother. She must also restore balance to a world affected by the spreading corruption.
Rhythm is central to the gameplay. Players must time their jumps, dashes, and other movements to the music while navigating obstacles and dangerous environments. Missing a beat can disrupt their movement, making timing essential to progressing through each level.
The game also features cinematic chase sequences that challenge players to react quickly while staying in sync with the soundtrack. As the story progresses, Ajira unlocks new abilities that expand her movement options and help her overcome more demanding challenges.
Indian art and traditional instruments shape the game's world

Tathvamasi Studios has drawn inspiration from different regions of India to create the island's environments and soundtrack.
The desert areas feature influences from Rajasthan's architecture and cultural traditions. Forest environments incorporate elements of Kerala's Theyyam culture, while mountain regions draw inspiration from Sikkimese architecture. Music plays an equally important role in establishing these locations.
According to game director Glen Martin, approximately 80% of the soundtrack was recorded using analogue instruments rather than electronic synthesis. The score incorporates traditional Indian percussion and regional instruments, including the veena.
The team also developed a musical structure suited to the game's platforming mechanics. After experimenting with different timings, the developers settled on approximately 480 milliseconds between the main beats.
This timing gives players enough room to react to obstacles without slowing down the action. On PS5, the studio's Rhythm Haptics Engine uses the DualSense controller's haptic feedback to communicate musical patterns through vibration, adding another way for players to follow the beat.
SURI launches with two editions and Trials of Yama DLC
SURI: The Seventh Note is available in Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions on PS5 and PC. The Standard Edition costs $19.99 in the US, while the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $24.99. The Deluxe package includes an exclusive Chandini skin and the Trials of Yama DLC.
Trials of Yama is a prequel adventure following Jaya, Ajira's mother, as she enters Yamlok, the domain of death, to reunite with Veer. The DLC features additional challenge rooms, puzzles, and enemies that build on the main game's rhythm mechanics.
The expansion is also available separately for $4.99 on the PlayStation Store and Steam. PC players can take advantage of a 20% introductory discount on Steam until November 13. The offer reduces the Standard Edition to $15.99 and the Deluxe Edition to $19.99 in the US.
A free demo is also available for players who want to try the rhythm-based gameplay before purchasing. SURI: The Seventh Note marks the debut release from Bengaluru-based Tathvamasi Studios after nearly four years of development.
