The Adventures of Elliot release date and time
June 18, 2026·3 min read
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales releases on June 18, 2026. Square Enix’s new HD-2D action RPG is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Console players should check the countdown on their own store page, since PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2 timing can change by region.
Release date and unlock time
The release date is June 18, 2026. Steam points to a global PC launch, so players on PC should be able to start at the same time worldwide once the store unlocks the game.
Console launches are usually handled by each platform store. Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo pages may show local times, so the safest option is to check the listing on the system where you plan to play.
There is no early access period listed for launch. Players can buy the Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition, depending on the platform.

Platforms and editions
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales launches on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and Windows. The Xbox version supports Xbox Play Anywhere, which means one digital purchase can work on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC were supported.
The Standard Edition includes the base game. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds the Fairy Bangle, Cherry Blossom Anklet, and Roselle Ring accessories through the Digital Deluxe Upgrade.
Square Enix is also selling a Collector’s Edition through its own store. It includes the game, the Digital Deluxe Upgrade, the original soundtrack, and a Faie and the Door of Time desktop clock.
Demo and preorder bonus
A Prologue Demo is available on all launch platforms. Save data from the demo carries into the full game, so players can try the opening section and keep their progress.
Digital preorders include Elliot’s Departure Pack. It comes with the Departure brooch accessory and Attack Up sword magicite, which give players a small early-game boost.
The demo is useful because this is not a turn-based RPG like Octopath Traveler. It uses real-time combat, different weapons, movement, and support from Elliot’s fairy partner, Faie.
What kind of game is it?
The story follows Elliot and Faie as they leave the protected Kingdom of Huther and explore Philabieldia. The journey also uses the Doorway of Time, which takes them across four different ages.
Combat lets Elliot use swords, bows, chains, and sickles. Players can also equip magicite to change weapon effects, while Faie helps during fights, puzzles, and exploration.
The HD-2D look will feel familiar to Square Enix fans, but the game moves faster than the studio’s turn-based RPGs. It is closer to an action RPG with dungeons, puzzles, upgrades, and direct control.
Early previews are positive
Early previews have received positive feedback for the game's visuals, music, exploration, and combat. The main appeal is that Square Enix is using the HD-2D style for a more active RPG instead of another turn-based adventure.
Some previews also describe the game as familiar rather than surprising. That may work in its favor if the final release delivers clean combat, clear exploration, and a steady sense of progress.
With launch close, the Prologue Demo is the easiest way to test the game before buying. Players who enjoy the combat and want a new Square Enix RPG can start watching their store countdown for June 18.
